U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools are nationally recognized for innovation and success in reducing environmental impact and costs; improving health and wellness; and providing sustainability education. Each school may be recognized with this award once in its lifetime.
Magnet Schools of America's Certified-Demonstration schools exceeded the standard of excellence for magnet programs and serve as learning models for magnets across the country to replicate.​ Mayfair Lab is Louisiana's FIRST and ONLY Certified-Demonstration magnet school AND has earned the honor TWICE (2024 and 2019).

The LDOE Top Gains Honoree award recognizes schools that made significant strides in improving student learning and achieving positive results. It highlights effective teaching practices, strong leadership, and a supportive school environment. Mayfair Lab has earned this award every year since its inception.

The Magnet School of Excellence is the top merit award category for Magnet Schools of Americca and is only awarded to a select group of schools that show exemplary commitment to academic standards, curriculum innovation, desegregation/diversity efforts, specialized teaching staffs and parent and community involvement.
The US News honors the Best Elementary Schools and Best Middle Schools as the top-ranked schools in the state that are high achieving and succeeded in educating all of their students.​ Mayfair Lab has received both of these awards every year since their inception.
