Possibilities for the next 3 days...

Mayfair Lab School

Hello Mayfair Lab Family,

Currently, we do not have an answer about school being open or closed tomorrow. The superintendent and leadership cabinet will make a decision tonight about a possible closure for tomorrow. The superintendent laid out two options for ending the school year while ensuring we meet the requirements for instructional minutes. ---------------------

Option 1:

If we have school tomorrow, then tomorrow, and Thursday will be full instructional days with students dismissing at 3:15 p.m. Thursday will be the last day of the school year for students.

Under this option we will have our 5th and 8th grade recognition programs tomorrow at their currently scheduled times of 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The 5th grade program will be livestreamed and fully virtual. The 8th grade parents will be able to attend the 8th grade program in person with a limit of 2 parents per child. The 8th grade program will also be livestreamed.

If we have school tomorrow, then the athletic banquet will still be at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow. ---------------------

Option 2:

If school is cancelled tomorrow, then Thursday and Friday will be full instructional days with students dismissing at 3:15 p.m. Friday will be the last day of the school year for students and teachers.

Under this option we will have our 5th and 8th grade recognition programs on Thursday. 5th grade ceremony will still be at 9:00 a.m. and 8th grade recognition will be at 10:30 a.m. The 5th grade program will be livestreamed and fully virtual. The 8th grade parents will be able to attend the 8th grade program in person with a limit of 2 parents per child. The 8th grade program will also be livestreamed.

Under this plan, the athletic banquet will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. ---------------------

Under both plans middle school field day is cancelled and all students except for 5th and 8th on the day of their recognition programs will follow normal uniform dress code.

The Mayfair Lab family was impacted by last night's storm with many faculty members, students, and parents being affected. Mayfair Lab is a strong family because we come together during hard times. Parents, please reach out to the PTA, front office, or your child's teacher if you need anything. We are going to get through this together.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
