Introducing: Our Elementary STEM Teacher!

Dear Mayfair Lab Parents and Families,


We are excited to announce that starting Monday, August 31, Ms. Jessica Romero will be transitioning into a new role as our Elementary STEM Teacher at Mayfair Laboratory School!


Ms. Romero is entering her fourth year of teaching and has consistently demonstrated a passion for science education, a commitment to her students, and a willingness to go above and beyond to support their academic and personal growth. Throughout her time at Mayfair Lab, she has built positive and meaningful relationships with her students and families, making a lasting impact both inside and outside of the classroom.


In her new role, Ms. Romero will bring that same passion and dedication to our Elementary STEM ancillary class. She is extending our partnership with the LSU Cain Center to create continuity between the elementary coursework and our current LSU STEM Pathway courses offered in middle school. As Ms. Romero leads our students through the Elementary STEM Pathways modules, they will engage in hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration, excitement, and empowerment.


Through this program and her leadership, Ms. Romero will help ensure that our students are developing the 4 C's of STEM: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity. These essential skills will empower our students to become confident learners, innovative thinkers, and effective problem-solvers as they prepare for the opportunities of the future.


We are incredibly excited about the opportunities this new role will provide for our students and are confident that Ms. Romero will be a tremendous asset to our Mayfair Lab community. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to our students will help make STEM an exciting and meaningful part of their educational experience.
